New Student Orientation Parts 1 & 2

During New Student Orientation, Part 1, you will:

• Meet your academic advisor and PAL (Peer Advisor Leader)
• Receive your Fall 2022 term course schedule
• Have lunch with your future classmates and families
• Attend presentations from our Academic Deans, Student Life, Financial Aid & Bursar and Public Safety
• Take #WELCOMELION pics with special guest, Leo the Lion
• Tour the Residence Halls

New Student Orientation, Part 2 takes place at the beginning of the Fall 2022 term on Sunday August 21, 2022* through Wednesday, August 24, 2022 leading into the start of classes on Thursday, August 25th. All new students are required to attend New Student Orientation, Part 2. No sign-up required.

Sunday, August 21

• Check-in and Move-in Day (Resident Students Only) plus a number of social events throughout the day

Monday, August 22

• Check-in for all resident and commuter students 
• Required NSO sessions from Student Life, Financial Aid, Library, IT, Student Government Association (SGA), Suicide Prevention session
• Social events
• Practice for fall athletes

• "Navigating a Useful Life" session
• Required NSO sessions from Academics, the Academic Success Center, Public Safety, and Title IX 
• Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) activity
• Practice for fall athletes
• BBQ Dinner for the college community

Wednesday, August 24

• Group Service Projects
• Language Placement Tests
• Open Advising 
• President's Welcome and Desserts (Business Casual Attire)
• Candlelight Welcoming Walk

Thursday, August 25

• Fall Term Classes begin
